We're Sponsoring John John

Through the Christian Foundation for Children & Aging our council is now sponsoring John Wilson Conet Agus, who is now 8 years old and lives in Antipolo, Philippines.

John John

He likes to be called John John. He attends EsEas Elementary School and speaks Tagalog but likes his English class. One of his main jobs at home is fetching water. He wants to be a policeman someday.

His father's name is Edgar Agas and mother is Evelyn Canet. He has a younger brother Jeric Andrew and sister, Princess.

Our sponsorship of John John will allow him to obtain a Catholic education and give him a chance to overcome the poverty his country faces.

Letters are encouraged and we'll be setting up a schedule for writing and sending letters and cards on his birthday which is January 9.

Get Your Super Saver Card

Thanks to the work of Rich Burkemper we've just kicked off a new fundraiser. You can see a descriptive flyer (PDF file) here: Super Saver Card Flyer

Super Saver Card

Basically it's a credit card sized card that provides the owner to discounts at participating area restaurants, which are listed on the card.

All members are urged to sell as many of these cards as they can. They're good until May 31, 2006. Cost is $10. You can contact Rich at 893-8855 for cards or Mark Reuther at 659-7869.

This is a fundraising effort in conjunction with 4 area Catholic Schools - St. Joseph Cathedral, St. Stanislaw, St. Peters and Immaculate Conception. The schools are selling the cards too and get to keep a portion of any they sell.
